Avoiding the digital War – Post-pandemic parenting course on Saturday 12 September 2020 at 6.30pm

Dear parents, carers, educators prospective parents et al,

You may or may not have seen the advertisement about the above course.

Well, I thought I should share a few things about this course.

Why this course? Well, why not? On a serious note, you spoke and we answered by bringing this course. Following feedback from parents, carers et al regarding the challenges that they were facing in their parenting journey, the course was designed with that in mind.

What is in it for you? Why should you attend? As many judges that I have appeared before would often say to me ” Mrs Anakwue, you would have a hard job persuading me to grant your request.” Well, we are not in a courtroom and I have no intention of putting my persuasive skills to use. What I will do though is to share some facts about the course and the value that you will derive from attending.

Firstly, as we know, children are now spending limitless time on gadgets and online. Many children have been reported as being obsessed with the digital world and displaying worrying and unanticipated behaviour making it difficult for parents and carers to control. This led to verbal and physical ’wars’ over the use of technology between parents and young people in their care.

Secondly, the course has been tailored for the benefit of parents, carers, educators and prospective parents that truly wish to see a remarkable difference in their lives and that of young people in their care. Those that are determined to have a frustration-free digital parenting and a better relationship with their children will benefit from this course.

Thirdly, it will be an interactive course on Zoom which will take place on 12 September 2020  at 6.30 pm (British time).

Some of the topics that will be considered are:

  1. Demystifying myths about parenting
  2. Activities to help you better manage your children’s online behaviour and use of devices
  3. How to communicate effectively with your children regarding technology and the use of devices
  4. Ground rules and setting boundaries with regards to the use of devices
  5. How to be a better parent leader
  6. Redirection – an effective parenting tool
  7. …..and more

Workbooks will be provided. There will be a goal setting exercise which will enable delegates to set SMART goals for themselves and their family. As the course facilitator, I will be the delegates accountability partner to check on the progress of their goals.

Guess what? Whether you attend the Zoom session in person or not on 12 September 2020, once you have registered, you will receive a workbook and be added to an interactive group for guidance; where all your questions and concerns will be answered.

Surely you don’t have any more questions? Well, even if you do, I am available to answer them.

Do not waste any further time, go right ahead and register.

I look forward to welcoming you on the course and working with you afterwards in our interactive group.

The fee for the course is £30/ $40/ N17, 000.
